Since it has a long-ish name im just going to refering to it by "Sky". Sky is an open world rpg following a chosen one story line, to give you a basic idea of it. Though its also an MMORPG, and it has some of the most unique gameplay mechanics ive seen in an mmorpg. basically, it utilizes the power of friendship. Throughout the game there are various key points (especially in the hidden forest) where you have to use other players to unlock doors and such. Also, in the 'final boss' of sky, the eye of eden, you almost require other players to survive the darkness. also, the currency in Sky is candles??? thats AWESOME !!!!!! my final thing, the graphics and sound design are impecible and really give you an idea of the atmosphere you're in!!
The basic description of The Frog Detective series is: comedic mystery games. The games dont really take themselves seriously, and thats a big part of its charm. It also demonstrates interesting character dynamics, some of my favourites from the third and final game. the graphics arent the best though i think that adds to the comedy, and charm of this game. highly reccomend to anyone who enjoys mystery games and is looking for some fun 1-3 hour play throughs.
Stardew is one of my favourite past times, and something i come back to almost every year.Combining RPGs with a farming sim, it gives you a unique terraria-esque experience. The characters are lovable (Haley is my fav) and you can experience various stories by becoming closer with each of them. Theres various small stories ingrained into the dialogue of each character, giving you a feeling of connection between each of the NPCs. Definitely reccomend to someone looking for long-term gameplay, or a game like animal crossing.
Miitopia is actually an addiction ever since I first got it I couldnt stop playing it. I took a brief break before quickly falling back into the depths of Miitopia. The way the battles are structured compared to other rpgs (final fantasy how i love and hate you) is much more entertaining to me, along with various goofy moments. I think a big part of the games charm is the customizability, in which essentially every npc is able to be altered to your liking!! Theres also the fact that every single job has a unique set of skills, allowing strategy in regards to your team well also still just. having fun. Overall Miitopia is one of my favourite games of all time go play it NOW!!
So much good, yet so much bad.. I really wish I could say Danganronpa was perfect but there are so many issues within the main 3 games alone I have to be fair and say this is the first game on my website I have more negative thoughts about… Lets start with the good: The art can be AMAZING especially in the first and second game, keep in mind I said can be. Also, they write certain characters so well its incredibly fun to explore their personalties, wants, goals, etc… Nagito is one of my favourite examples of Danganronpa really shining and showing how well it can write characters. The overall concept is really interesting as well as the music! Based on just these alone, I would give it a 4.5/5 stars, but I do have to speak about the various.. strange parts of this series. The most blatant one: The sexualization of underage characters…! Danganronpa v2 really does this the most but its still there in the other two of the main games. Cough cough Mikan cough cough…. I don’t understand why they do this bc Danganronpa has plenty of other amazing qualities that really allow it to shine, yet they go and throw a drawing of a teenager with the caption spread eagle in THE FIRST CHAPTER bc they need their gooner fanbase…. Ts pmo tbh… I see a couple excuses for this too— for goodbye despair: Oh they were in the Neoworld program they aren’t ACTUALLY 17!” They looked, acted, and believed they were seventeen. If a grown man is in a 17 year olds body, ITS STILL A 17 YEAR OLD. The other excuse, specifically for Mikan- “She’s hyper sexual” no matter how much that may be true, they glamorized the things that happened to her and romanticized the behaviour rather than showing that it was in fact wrong of her to climb into bed with our Protag without his consent. Going off from this: The horrible rep of disorders in Danganronpa. DID is the first that comes to mind and for good reason. Toko Fukawa Aka Genocide Jack I will never forgive you for feeding into the already negative stigma surrounding DID, well also being a horrible rep of it. Junko also does this but its never confirmed she has DID so I can’t speak much on her.. Okay so remember when I said the are CAN be amazing? V3 cough cough who said that.. some parts of danganronpas art are so.. strange? In the second game, with the ultimate imposter, why did they draw him like that? I love his personality aside from the weird eating thing, but the way they illustrated him is so degrading and different from the rest of the group just bc he’s heavyset, and I don’t get why. V3 definitely has the most art of cutscenes and some of it is GREAT coughs maki/Kaito/shuichi training, but then other times its just weirdly inconsistent.. I really wish they made the art more consistent in the game but alas. I will say, many of the character dynamics are really well written and I just adore Kaito/Kokichi’s dynamic, they both want the same thing but have different ways of getting to that goal and that goal is what will result in their demise. Overall, pretty good series, has a lot it could improve upon though.
